County Durham Archaeology Day returns at a new venue of Bishop Auckland Town Hall.
If you are interested in archaeology, come along and hear about the latest exciting discoveries in County Durham and Darlington from 9.50am (doors open at 9.15am) to 4.20pm.
Topics featured in this year’s talks will include the excavations at an early prehistoric settlement at Grassholme, the Bronze Age site at Gilmonby, Iron Age/Romano-British settlements at Gueswick and Newton Aycliffe, medieval occupation at Elvet Riverside, historic building recording in the river Skerne catchment area and an update on discoveries recorded by the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
There will also be displays by local societies and archaeological contractors as well as bookstalls.
A buffet lunch is available for an additional £12 with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.
