Coal Faces is a new musical drama set in the mining villages of County Durham, telling the story of the Elton family across three acts spanning seventeen years — 1971, 1984, and 1988. Rooted in real community voices and driven by powerful original music, it explores love, survival, and the cost of a dying industry. Written and directed by Andrew Golightly with music by Jo Collins, co-founder of Chickenshed Theatre Company.
