The 1880s: somewhere on the coast Mrs Alving prepares to honour the ten year anniversary of her husband’s death with the opening of an orphanage in his name. Their son, Oswald, has returned home to join her after twenty years abroad.
But as night draws in and she is forced to confront the truth of her marriage and the man she once loved who rejected her the ghosts of the past return to haunt them all.
Elysium Theatre Company returns to Bishop Auckland after their 2025 tour of The Moth to celebrate their 10th Anniversary Year with a stunning new production of Ibsen’s gripping drama of buried love, and family secrets relocated to the North East.
